Chalkboard Labels Freebie at TPT

I finally started my own TPT store! I only have 2 things posted but hope to get other things up eventually! I've been wanting to do this for a long time now. I was surprised at how long it takes to get a file ready to upload. It took me forever. Hopefully it will be faster the next time around.
I have a chalkboard labels freebie posted and leadership jobs for a seven habits classroom for sale. Check it out by clicking here.

New Birthday Board

I've wanted to change my birthday board for a couple of years now. Thanks to all of the wonderful ideas out there on Pinterest, I finally got around to doing it. I love how it turned out and can't wait to add names with my chalkboard markers in August!

Supplies:
  • 11x14 sparkly frame from hobby lobby $29, but I had a 40% off coupon
  • green striped fabric left over from banner pennant
  • little white clothespins from Hobby Lobby $1.99
  • skinny ribbon- already had
  • birthdays pennant stickers from Archiver's- $4.99, they were 40% off
  • month labels I made on my computer, then ran through my Xyron sticker maker
  • chalkboard tags (already chalkboard, just had to trim them into squares, then round the corners) from Hobby Lobby 2 packs@ $1.99 each.

Total for project under $25!

No Sew Banners

Thanks to theinspiredapple no sew banner tutorial... I was able to make my own banners for a couple of classrooms. It was super easy and even quicker with the second banner. It took me a total of 3-4 hours to complete 4 banners.

I made this calm blue/green pennant for a friend who also teaches first grade. It's going to look great in her classroom!

I'm adding a pop of black to my classroom decor so this pink, lime green, black dots banner will look super cute!

Trash to Treasure!

I was ready to get rid of an old mirror that I've had forever. The frame was just black, but I had no place for it in my house. The chalkboard craze made me envision this as something new for my classroom! I loved the idea of taking my first grader's pictures on the first day holding a chalkboard sign. So with chalkboard paint, limelight spray paint, and chalkboard markers I was able to create this bright chalkboard sign for the first day of school!
p.s. It took me forever to get the letters cute on the chalkboard!!!

Table Tally Freebie

I use table tallys to encourage teamwork in my classroom. I also use them to encourage my students to keep their "lips zipped" throughout the day so everyone can get their work done! The table(s) that I see working together during a clean up and/or working quietly can earn a tally mark. At the end of the week the table with the most tallys earns our class trophy to have at their table for the week (a plastic trophy from Target's Dollar Spot). Whenever I mention "table tallys"my students help each other during clean up and keep their voices off... works like a charm!  I made a page to keep track of tallys and keep it on our class data wall. I laminated it and use a visa vi marker to keep track. Click here to download a copy!
